Abstract:

Gnaiger 1983 Springer POS

A major function of blood in most organisms is to supply the tissues with oxygen. The measurement of oxygen partial pressure (pO2) and oxygen content (cO2) in blood are therefore important criteria through which the state of the gas exchange system of the organism can be assessed.
