Sodium fluoride

Description

Sodium fluoride (NaF) is used in combination with beryllium sulfate to form beryllium trifluoride (BeF³⁻), to inhibit the ATP synthase if it is exposed by disruption of the mitochondrial membranes.

NaF: (sodium fluoride; NaF), Sigma-Aldrich: S7920, store at RT, M = 41.99 g·mol^-1

Preparation of 500 mM stock solution (dissolved in H₂O)

1. Weigh 209.95 mg of NaF.
2. Dissolve in 10 mL distilled H2O under the fume hood.
3. Divide in aliquots.
4. Store at +4 °C.
