E-L coupling efficiency

Description

The biochemical coupling efficiency is a component of the thermodynamic efficiency of coupling between ATP production (DT phosphorylation) and oxygen consumption, expressed as the E-L coupling control factor, Ξ”jE-L, which is 0.0 at zero coupling and 1.0 at the limit of a fully coupled system. For the thermodynamic (ergodynamic efficiency), this flux efficiency is multiplied by the corresponding force efficiency.

Abbreviation: Ξ”jE-L

Reference: Flux control factor
