Abstract:

Gnaiger 1983 Springer POS

When gas A is dry air and mixed with an oxygen-free dry gas or gas mixture B (e.g., N2), then the pO2 in water equilibrated with this gas mixture is

pO2 = (pbβˆ’pH2O,Ts)Γ—Ο•AΓ—Ο•βˆ—o2, (1)

where pb is barometric pressure [kPa], pH2O,Ts is the saturation water vapor pressure at the temperature of the water sample, Ξ¦A is the volume fraction of gas A in the gas mixture leaving the gas mixing pump,

Ο•A=pA/pb and 1βˆ’Ο•A=pB/pb, (2)

Ο•βˆ—o2 is the volume fraction of oxygen in dry air which can be taken as constant Ο•βˆ—o2=0.20946.
