Invitation

The concept of organizing an 'International Summer School on Mitochondrial Respiratory Biology' emerged during the past Courses on High-Resolution Respirometry held in Schroecken, Austria IOC36. The mission is in line with the aims of the MiPsociety.
Based on contributions by several members of the MiPadvisory Board, we extend our invitation and ask you for your oppinion, interest, and potential support for this MiPevent. We consider the MiPsummer School complementary to MiP2007 (120 participants) - as an activity of the MiPsociety mainly addressed to students (in the widest sense of the word).
We offer an 'Internat. MiPsummer School' for up to 60 participants, with particular focus on OXPHOS, respiratory chain and mitochondrial respiratory (dys)function in the context of Mitochondrial Physiology. A large number of reserach and clinical groups are now entering the field of mitochondrial functional diagnosis, and students require an up-to-date background that can be provided by lecturers who are leaders in the field.
This MiPevent (12.-18. July 2007) follows directly the 32nd FEBS Congress in Vienna, Austria (http://www.febs2007.org/).
Full cost, 6 days (accomodation, all meals, registration): € 300.- for students and € 500.- for 'non-students', plus € 50.- for optional MiPtransfer from Bregenz to Schroecken.
Some complementary funding might provide the basis for a few scholarships.
The MiPsummer School will be followed by the 41st International O2k-Course on High-Resolution Respirometry.
I thank you in advance for your support and am looking forward to hearing from you, to your suggestions and potential input into this MiPsummer School 2007.

With kind regards,
The Mitochondrial Physiology Society
