Overview

Following the MiPschool on Mitochondrial Physiology 2008, the lecturers decided to prepare a 'Textbook on Mitochondrial Physiology', which will evolve in conjunction with future MiPsummer Schools (June 2009, USA; 2010, Brazil; June 2010, Austria) and in collaboration with members of the Executive MiPcommittee . This is a direct response to the feedback received during the MiPschool 2008.
The Textbook on Mitochondrial Physiology starts as an on-line introduction into the topics constituting the scientific background of the MiPsociety. Links will be made available to relevant websites, including selected protocols for practical approaches to MiP. In due time, a hard copy will be produced to further disseminate the MiP Textbook and as an expression of the mission of the MiPsociety.
More detailed instructions and recommendations for contributions will be available on this page.

From the feedback I can read the need for an introductive knowledge, accessible basic mitochondrial science, in a bring-home documentation format. We could also videotape the course and provide movies on the website as webseminars are developing rapidly these days; an electronic version of the MiPschool.
