Speed

Description

Speed, v [m·s-1], is the distance, s [m], covered by a particle per unit time, irrespective of geometrical direction in space. Therefore, speed is not a vector, in contrast to velocity.

v = ds/dt [m·s-1]

Abbreviation: v [m·s-1]
