Comments on MiPMap
- Good concept regarding the MiPMap -- it could save lots of time and effort on the part of many investigators, not only by avoiding many hours of traditional search engine work, but also avoiding 're-inventing the wheel' in terms of experimental approaches. Hand SC (2012-12-26)
Example
In the MiPMap you would find information on mouse cell lines and tissues, e.g. mouse kidney mitochondria:
- * Is malic enzyme present?
- * Is the P/E<1.0 like in mouse brain but different from mouse skeletal muscle?
- * Which UCPs are present?
- * Preparation of isolated mitochondria, permeabilized tissue, homogenate.
- * Which respiration medium is recommended? ->> Do not use media with high K+, which inhibits kidney mitochondrial respiration.
>> Is this a general issue for kidney, or is it in addition also a species issue? (according to Calzia E MiR05 works fine with kidney tissue from pig, but not in mouse).
>> Limitations of using MiR05 to MiR06Cr
